Hello. My name is Harry Anderson. I am the manager of Nottingham Tree Surgeons.

I have worked outdoors doing this type of work my whole life.

I believe that everybody enjoys trees and we want to look after them. I enjoy working for Nottingham Tree Surgeons and I do a good job because I take pride in what I do. Working outdoors for a living means that I get to see customers everyday, solve problems and make sure that the out door areas are safe, enjoyable and tidy. Caring for trees is not just something I do for a living.

I care deeply about trees because they are very important to our homes, businesses, parks and the natural environment.

I strongly believe that every tree should be treated individually and customer care is just as important as the work itself. When I was made manager at Nottingham Tree Surgeons one of my main aims was to establish Nottingham Tree Surgeons as a trustworthy and reliable company. I wanted people to be confident calling us.

When it comes to trees they are often hazardous or unhealthy but nobody knows what they should do. My job is to make them feel at ease. I am easy to talk to, I aim to always provide people with the information they need before they decide on how to deal with their tree problems.

We do not pressure customers and we do not expect them to pay for work which is unnecessary.

We clearly explain what needs to be done and we give good honest advice from the beginning. We work on a large range of different trees. Some customers only want a tree stemmed back because it has grown too big, some want dangerous trees removed so that they do not cause damage, other customers require stump grinding, hedge trimming, crown reduction, crown lifting, dead wood removal and emergency tree work after strong winds or storms. Whatever the job we approach each with the utmost attention and respect.

Whether a garden tree or a street tree or maybe a tree on the edge of a building no job is ever too big or too small.

I also love to see customers in their gardens where we have completed big jobs because I like to see people enjoying their outside space which they can now do after we have finished. Customer care is as important as the trees themselves. I always treat my customers with respect and I believe giving good customer service is just as important as giving good tree care.

I listen to my customers and I explain to them what we do in simple terms as more often than not people have never employed a tree surgeon before. Customers should never have to be confused and unsure of what is going on. Good communication is necessary to gain trust and if customers trust us they will use us again and again.

Tree safety is essential.

We take our time and ensure everything is safe to carry out work on trees. Trees can be healthy but they become poorly because of storm damage or old age or disease or damage hidden inside the trunk. Even a very healthy looking tree can have serious problems which are only visible after careful examination. Tree work should be safe to carry out at any time of year and we are happy to explain that to customers.

Careful consideration should always be given when removing trees and we always make sure to give the best advice before doing any job.

Trees should be left standing healthy and safe. Nothing should be needlessly removed and in most circumstances we will advise on alternative treatments to control how the tree is growing in the future such as pruning or crown reduction. Trees are great for the environment and they are great to live near when they are healthy.

They clean the air we breathe, they give us shade in the summer and they provide homes for many creatures so we should not just get rid of trees without a good reason. We do not believe in removing trees unless it is absolutely necessary. We believe in doing the work on a regular basis to keep the trees healthy and the cost down.

In order to have beautiful flowering and foliage through the summertime customers should use a tree care company regularly and have their trees pruned and managed correctly throughout the year. How long a tree is left between pruning jobs is dependent on what the tree is, where it is growing and the nature of the species. Some trees rarely need pruning, some need it every year, others need it every few years. We are able to advise on this during an inspection of the property and we can also create a long term maintenance plan if required.

We are also able to offer stump grinding after tree removal but this is not always absolutely necessary as some residents prefer to have the logs removed and the stump left to decompose naturally in the ground.

However if the customer prefers the stump to be ground this will allow more room in the garden and a much more tidy appearance. Generally customers would prefer us to work on trees throughout the year however other jobs are seasonal to certain times of the year like pruned to produce the best results. It is always wise to have an inspection with a qualified arborist because although some jobs can be carried out during the wintertime others can be carried out at different times and it is always best to get advice from a professional.

We always clear up completely after any job. We believe that tree surgeons should leave your property clear of branches, logs and general rubbish unless the customer wants us to leave it. It is extremely important that a professional tree company offer free quotes because customers deserve to know how much a job will cost.
