All case-hardened components at Servis Heat Treatment begin with a carburizing process. We utilize either the cyanide salt bath method or our sealed quench furnaces for this purpose. When employing the sealed quench technique, components are subjected to a carbon-rich atmosphere with added nitrogen. Although the process temperatures are consistent, the cycle time is extended. This method is cost-effective and can achieve a case depth of up to 1mm.
