* GUITAR LESSONS TAILORED FOR YOU *
Learning to play an instrument can be one of the most exciting and rewarding activities you ever do... me and my musician friends definitely all agree on this! Contrary to what many believe, learning to play music can be fun and invigorating. The way to make it fun, and keep it fun, is to align the lessons with your unique and personal motivations for wanting to become a musician in the first place. Because if you're having fun, then you're also motivated... and the more motivated you are, the quicker you'll see progress, which will create a positive cycle that will keep pushing you forward.. Allow me to help you along that path by showing you the tools that will allow you to express yourself on guitar or bass.
*** As a singer/songwriter and performer, I can also show you how to be able to play and sing at the same time, and also how to arrange your songs for live performance on the guitar... which is a service that is not often offered with standard guitar lessons ***
I have been a guitar player for over 15 years, and have been earning a living as a professional musician for the last 10 years (8 of them right here in London), playing with many high-profile and in-demand live acts across the UK. I have also taught dozens and dozens of people how to begin, or continue, their musical journey, as a guitar and bass tutor both in schools and also privately. My combined experience of gigging, studio-work and teaching has given me a very in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the instrument. And I would love to share my knowledge, experience and insight with you, regardless of what stage you're at. From complete beginner who's never picked up a guitar before, to more experienced players looking to inject new life into their playing, I will help you take your playing to the next level. Here are some (but not all) of the areas I can help you with :
- Learning chords, melodies, riffs and your favourite songs
- General understanding of music, and how it applies to the guitar
- Becoming familiar with the layout of the instrument / finding notes easily
- Correct and effective technique that will help you improve rapidly and prevent injury
- Improvisation and soloing
- Rhythm in both chord and lead playing (with a pick and/or fingerstyle)
- Technical concepts and exercises to enable you to play faster and more accurately
*** SPECIALISED Areas ***
- Learning to play and sing at the same time
- Songwriting and Song Arrangements on Guitar
- Playing bass as a guitarist
I can teach you from my home in Kensal Rise (NW10), but am also happy to come teach you at your office or home if you're happy to cover my additional time and transport costs. A quick note on the prices (which I've listed below). You might notice that they aren't the cheapest you'll find, but there's a reason for this. I truly believe that you get what you pay for... yes you can find cheaper lessons, but my accumulated experience as a professional musician and tutor has given me the ability to offer lessons that are of a very high standard that will get you results quicker (so you might even be saving money in the long run), so I am absolutely confident that you will see results that will justify the amount you spend. I base this confidence on countless positive experiences that my students have had, and continue to have to this day.
