Cruise Ship Aerobic/Fitness Instructors. Must have RSA or YMCA Exercise to Music, or an aerobic qualification, a Step certificate, Resistance Weights, e.g. BAWLA or NABBA or an International equivalent. At least three months experience in teaching aerobics and step aerobics is required to take a variety of aerobic classes, supervise the gymnasium and do personal fitness testing. Experience in teaching Yoga or Tai Chi is a great advantage. Fluent English Language skills required. Salary: $2,200 – $2,800 US per month. (Approx: £1,100 - £1,400 per month).
Cruise Ship Golf Instructor. Operating golf simulator, playing golf with passengers and other cruise staff duties. Fluent English Language skills required. These positions call for very independent individuals who have the capacity to teach at all levels and the ability to interact in social situations with the cruise line guests, staff and port personnel. They must also possess the motivation and business acumen to operate the on-board operation in its entirety, from self promotion, instruction and conducting shore excursions. Salary: $2,400 - $4,000 US per month. (Approx: £1,200 - £2,000 per month).
Cruise Ship Scuba Diving/Water Sports Instructors. Instructors conduct the snorkelling and dive programmes, maintain dive boats and equipment and are responsible for the health and safety of the passengers. They also are involved with some of the non-water related activities as instructed by the Assistant Cruise Director. Must have a Dive Instructor Certificate and have worked at Instructor level with a report or dive operation. The National Association of Underwater Instructors Certificate or First Aid certificates are required. He/she must also possess superior communication, organisational and sales skills. Computer literacy, ability to control inventory and quality are also required. He/she must also be in excellent physical shape, have superior in-water skills and a good knowledge of marine life and marine ecology. Must also have an extroverted, friendly personality and is comfortable dealing with the public both in and out of the water. He/she is responsible for the entire implementation of the programme, from sale to taking the participant on a dive tour. Must also be able to present the programme to the passengers in a clear and professional format. Must monitor all sales and revenue to ensure that the programme meets and adheres to budget goals. Salary: $2,400 - $2,800 US per month. (Approx: £1,200 - £2,400 per month).
THE ABOVE SALARIES ARE AVERAGE SALARIES. IN ADDITION YOUR FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION IS INCLUDED AND YOUR SALARY IS NORMALLY TAX FREE IF YOUR CONTRACT IS FOR SIX MONTHS AND OVER. THESE CONTRACTS ARE RENEWABLE. |
