The older versions (which were produced at HLC) were lighter in weight & at the base of the crock there was a small lip or ridge where the newer version there isn't one. Bright and stylish, these table linens will bring out the color of any meal. Featuring a variety of bold hues, these linens are embellished with an embroidered logo. However, interest in Fiesta decreased and the last pieces of what we now call "old" Fiesta were produced. In 1987 Homer Laughlin resumed production of Fiesta dinnerware, but this time it was in slightly different colors which were more pastel. Today, collectors of Fiesta have a wide variety of both old and new pieces to collect, even though the older pieces in mint condition are becoming harder to find. Fiesta was designed by Frederick H. Rhead in 1936 and is now among the most collected china products in the world. As originally designed, the line featured art deco styling and bold, bright colors. The product was discontinued in 1973 and reissued in 1986 with new contemporary colors to mark its 50th anniversary.
