| In the next few months Primitive Construction Company (me and the old man) will be commencing a new project. This is to create 3D blogs/ web sites/ web 2.0 style spaces within secondlife for musicians and bands. It will eventually be a long term maintenance project where we will regularly update either live music / video streams or streams to external sites ( band web sites , myspace music for example). ...meet with your fans around the world - stream your gigs live into the virtual world. And we'll work out the streaming and even do the photography for you if you like.
Some similar projects have been carried out for musicians such as Talib Kweli and Regina Spektor by other companies. However, what we want to do is focus on smaller bands - preferably, but not limited to, the UK . There is potential to reach an international audience, and possibilities of even selling music from within secondlife.
The other musicians involved in secondlife are at present quite diverse and tend to (not always) fall into categories of either 'well known artists' making a presence, or less well known individuals who regularly stream live events. What we envisage is potentially 20 or more bands all located within a central space where music enthusiasts will visit, discover new music, find out about live gigs, purchase or link to downloads.
We are an experienced design team who can design pretty much any environment desired and are especially interested and skilled in providing interactivity. The spaces that already exist - specifically that for Talib Kweli (created by millionsofus) give a real taste of what can be done.
We need to create a prototype for this project. If any bands or individuals would like to volunteer to be involved and in return receive a free build and year's space & maintenance, (initially on our own island) please get in contact. Feel free to express an interest however small. It's a new project and one that could be exciting. If you have no idea what I'm chatting about either ignore this bulletin or GET IN TOUCH and i'll give you a tour of some cool stuff.
Here's some links about some of the stuff that has been done by others, and ideas on whether so far it has been done to full potential.
