Public Manual Handling Training courses 2005.

These courses take place at the Academy training rooms, which are situated in the Holiday inn Basingstoke (see map for directions).  The hotel is only a few minutes from the M3/A30 and only a short taxi or bus ride from Basingstoke main line train station.  There is plenty of free parking available on site.

The course is designed to provide any employee, whether office, industrial or warehouse with an understanding of the manual handling operations regulations 1992. The session combines a dynamic presentation with videos and props and practical demonstrations to ensure all delegates are confident and competent in manual handling techniques.  A variety of objects are used for the practical session, this ensures that the course is suitable for all levels and abilities.

The course will provide:

• An introduction to the legislation and why it is in place.
• Information on the hazards and risks involved in manual handling.
• Correct handling techniques and common mistakes
• Manual handling risk assessment
• Practical instruction and good lifting practices.
• Team lifting and handling awkward loads.

All delegates attending will receive a certificate of attendance which is valid for 3 years.

Registration and coffee is at 09.00. 

Training commences at 09.20

Course will end at 12.45

Class sizes are limited to 14 delegates to ensure the quality of training.

The cost is £57.00 + VAT per delegate.  This includes all pens, notepads, booklet handout, certificate and refreshments.
