The position will be based in Patcham, Brighton, with a view to relocating to new offices in the Brighton & Hove area within the next six to nine months. Job Description: The successful applicant will be encouraged to play an active role in the conception, planning and development of the services offered by DoYourOwnSite! and will be given opportunities to explore new areas and ideas whenever possible. Other areas of the role will include some customer support for technical issues and the development of other Internet based projects with which the company is involved outside of it's core business. Skills Range: Essential: - Excellent knowledge of web application development using PHP and MySQL - Hand coded (X)HTML and CSS - JavaScript and AJAX experience - The ability to write clearly and explain technical concepts in layman's terms - An understanding of of how to develop simple interfaces that can be easily understood and used by non-technical users - A keen and current interest in various web technologies and trends - Fluent English, spoken and written Desirable: - Experience with JavaScript Libraries such as JQuery - Linux system administration skills - Graphic design skills with packages such as Fireworks, PhotoShop, etc. - Flash animation and ActionScript - SOAP, XML, RSS and Web 2.0 technologies Additional Information: Salary based on skills and experience.
