Amongst the petrol engines, the 1.0 12v is the most frugal. This example is powered by this fantastic 3 cylinder engine that also powers the VW Polo. The engine returns 41mpg in city conditions and over 60 mpg on the motorway, to achieve a combined fuel efficiency of 50 mpg. With petrol prices rising beyond the £1.10 mark, this is a very desirable car. Especially since the price differential between petrol and diesel means that this car is the equivalent of a 65 mpg diesel- which are both rare and expensive. Interior The car offers a surprising amount of space inside, and it’s easy to get comfortable behind the chunky steering wheel. The car is extremely easy to drive, thanks to the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) which makes it a breeze to park. The specification on the Active model is refreshingly good, with electric windows and mirrors and the CDR2005 CD player. The car also has ice-cold air conditioning, which is a boon in the approaching summer. The interior has not been smoked in and is free of rips or tears and the car is simply in a brilliant condition inside. Useful features such as RDS clock (which automatically sets and adjusts the time) and an outside temperature display all add up to make this car a very comfortable and capable machine. There are good Kenwood 6x9 speakers installed by the previous owner, which is a plus. Exterior Outside, the good condition continues. Apart from usual age related signs, the bodywork is shiny and in very good condition. The Active model also brings about alloy wheels. The tyres are good all round and all lights work. The car is well designed and exudes a sporty stance and all round compact good looks. Fitting into tight parking spaces is easy and yet you can stretch out inside! Without a doubt, a handsome car.
