Eugene Portman performs in Leeds and other areas of the UK as a jazz pianist and also with his trio. The Eugene Portman Trio consists of Eugene on piano , Dave Trigwell on Drums and Mike Porter Ward on bass. Whether Eugene is performing as a solo pianist or whether he is playing with his trio - you can be assured that the music is going to contribute to the event and will cetainly be entertaining. Eugene's style of piano playing is melodic and easy on the ear. His music consists of great tunes played in his own inimitable way and he has the ability to play music that that is just right for the occasion - matching the mood of the event perfectly. His influences are many but his main ones are: Oscar Peterson, George Shearing, Erroll Garner, Monty Alexander and the Dudley Moore Trio. He doesn't just mimic these musicians but he uses these influences to create a style of playing that is unique.
