Charting your basal body temperature can help you predict your most fertile time of the month and also help you see when conception is most likely to occur.
During ovulation your temperature wil rise by up to 0.02 degree and stay elevated throughout the second half of your cycle (Luteal Phase) It is this rise in body temperature, detected on your basal body thermometer, that confirms ovulation has taken place.
Ovulation is the release of the egg by the ovaries, it is during this time that pregnancy can occur.
Basal Body Charting is very easy, simply take your temperature when you wake with a digital thermometer which has 2 decimal places. Record your temperature on a chart, as soon as you see your temperature rise by at least 0.2 degrees C and stay elevated for at least 3 days then you can be confident that ovulation has occurred. |
