This DVD provides a comprehensive library of high-quality digital video covering over 260 British birds ready to load on your Apple iPhone or iPod touch. That's every species you are likely to encounter in the UK and Ireland with the exception of rare vagrants. Much of the footage has been recently filmed using the latest digital cameras. The clips have been carefully selected to show the main plumages and typical behaviours. The video has been specially processed to give optimal playback on the superb displays of the iPhone and iPod touch.
An individual video file lasting around one minute is provided for every species, usually with a sequence of different shots edited together. At all times the species is clearly identified with a name caption at the bottom of screen, so the guide works well in the field without audio. And a further short text caption provides concise information about the particular plumage shown in each shot. Total running time is five hours.
To load the Video Guide to British Birds on your iPhone or iPod Touch, simply drag the video files from the supplied DVD onto your device's icon in iTunes. The clips are numbered so that the species appear in standard taxonomic order. The entire library of 261 species takes up approximately 3GB of space on your device.
