Fig Tree Gite is situated between the towns of Bergerac and Sainte Foy Le Grande-both are less then 5 minutes away and are wonderful medieval market towns.
The gite was once a tobacco barn and has been beautifully restored and is completely self-sufficient. It is entirely open plan so has a lovely fresh and airy feeling of space but also embraces you with its warmth, peace and tranquility. The main wooden doors to the gite open into a spacious double height salon with great timber pillars that reach up into the high roof beams. Local stone work with solid stone and oak flooring along with the soft furnishing makes it a very welcoming room and the heart of the gite. The double bedroom is set on a mezzanine floor and is ideally suited to a couple. However, we will accept a small child and can provide a travel cot on request.
The gite is set in beautiful private grounds, with fantastic trees and a small swimming pool-perfect for sunbathing in peace. It is surrounded by crop fields and only a few neighbouring cottages and homes. The vineyards in the area are a must see and the wine a must have! A local vineyard 'Clos D'vigne' is run by the famous bestselling author Patricia Atkinson.
